What's in Your Church Bag?

I told my sister I was struggling with my children during church. She said to get a new "church bag." She explained that if I had a bag that I was putting a few things in to keep them busy it needed to be overhauled.

So...what is in your church bag this week?

I have both teens and toddlers, so my church bag has basic stuff like a few colored pencils, some paper, no word books (Good Dog, Carl is a favorite), raisins, almonds, and a sipper cup of water. This helps us avoid the "can I go get a drink?" trap. Our ward bulletin usually has something on the back for the children to color or do. That really helps. We also have the I spy bag you talked about. My older children like that just as much or more than my younger ones.

My children also enjoyed things that were only for Sunday. Some of the favorites were cards that had the prophets pictures and facts, also temple cards...they loved playing name the temple. As they got older I had a questionnaire to fill out about the meeting...like what was the opening song who said the opening prayer, etc...we also had them write down the main thoughts of the speakers...this kept them engaged in the meeting.
