| GREAT IDEA:
The Quorum Handshake is especially effective in wards with a
high influx of quorum members. The three easy steps are described below.
1. Give everyone in the Quorum about two minutes to learn the names of the
brothers sitting on either side of them.
2. Then the person conducting the meeting shakes the hand of the brother
nearest him and announces his name.
3. Then that brother shakes the hand of the brother next to him announcing
his name. In this way the handshake moves all around the quorum until everyone
has been introduced.
GREAT IDEA:
The MLS software on your wards computer works great for managing and tracking
Home Teaching. However it doesn't allow you to track personal priesthood
interviews, home visits or other activities. An easy way to track these
things is to export the individuals names from MLS to a text file, then import
the text file into an Excel or Open Office Spreadsheet. Use this new spreadsheet
to track visits, PPIs and other activities.
GREAT IDEA:
Take time during your presidency message on the first Sunday of December to talk about the 2008 Mutual Theme from Mosiah 5:15. "Be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works." Discuss ways we can support the youth and encourage them to be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works. Challenge the members of the quorum or group to apply this principle to their life and/or discuss it with their family.
